Strengthening and remediation works on a 12-level, 130-apartment building
Raising the standard
Despite their spectacular views and sought after location, the C-Vu apartments suffered weathertightness, structural and fire hazard issues which needed to be remediated. Following the Owner’s successful litigation process, we were engaged to act as the Owner’s Representative and Project Manager for the construction phase of the remediation project.
Rebuilding momentum
Prior to our involvement in the project, it had suffered significant delays due to the changes associated with structural strengthening and the passive fire remediation that had been requested by Council. We collaborated with the architects to resolve the outstanding issues, get the building consent issued and then worked with the contractor to identify the best option to accelerate their works in the most cost effective way.
Points of interest
- We enabled property owners to take advantage of the opportunity to upgrade fixtures and fittings within their apartments by coordinating these works into the project.
- We were required to liaise with the Body Corporate and the Owners throughout the project to ensure that their requirements and expectations were met.
- The C-Vu apartments are great for people who want to be close to the K Rd and Ponsonby lifestyle, with spectacular views across the harbour and city.
