Bringing a state-of-the-art pre-school to life
A space to grow
This project involved the construction of a new community preschool and associated external facilities, on a new site adjacent to Arrowtown Primary School. The innovative, modern design was centred around supporting the children it would ultimately house, including considered features such as an air-to-water heat pump, and underfloor heating to ensure toasty-warm mat time.
Our collaborative approach
Our team were engaged as project managers for the consent procurement and construction phases of the overall build, involving ongoing liaison with the Ministry of Education. Restrictions on budget and timeframe required us to think outside the box, ultimately delivering a state-of-the-art learning environment on time and on budget.
Points of Interest
- The site was located on a busy street, between residential properties and an existing school. As a result, construction needed to be timed around peak traffic hours, with close attention paid to the neighbouring school.
- Our mission was to open prior to the new intake of pre-school students in late September, and our team went above and beyond to make this happen.
- At the conclusion of this project, our team was thrilled to see the delight on many little faces (and on the parent’s faces as well) at the pre-school opening.
