Rubix successfully managed the design and construction for the Onsen Hot Pools extension, Arthurs Point in Queenstown providing additional hot pools and spa treatment facilities overlooking the Shotover River and mountainous Otago landscape.
Complex and challenging
When the property next door to the existing site came on the market; an opportunity presented itself to the owners of Onsen Hot Pools to extend their successful family business and increase the scope of services available. This project was complex due to the bespoke mechanical design required to provide a world class hot pool and spa treatment solution. The expansion included five additional outdoor hot pools, three spa baths and four massage rooms. Rubix was brought on board to manage the design, consenting and construction process.
Success and recognition
The construction of the extension had to be carefully coordinated with the operations of the existing hot pools. The contractor was able to successfully coordinate with the Client to deliver a challenging project that was partly Client designed and partly design and build for the mechanical system. The success of this business has been reflected in International Awards not only attributable to the hot pools but also the idyllic view over the Shotover river and mountainous Otago terrain. It was completed on time and on budget.
