Creating a unique bar and restaurant on one of the world’s most spectacular golf courses
A striking project
Jacks Point golf course is situated on the edge of a man-made lake, residing within the Jacks Point development in Queenstown. For this project, we managed the consent, procurement and construction of an architecturally designed, 1,000 sqm clubhouse to sit alongside the golf course. Set against a backdrop of 2300 vertical metres of the Remarkables mountain range, this spectacular club house is a world-class destination.
The plans for the club house were extensive, encompassing a pro-shop, a cart barn, locker rooms and a full-service restaurant and bar. Elegant design features included an exposed cedar shakes roof and off-form shuttered concrete walls.
Against the elements
One of our immediate challenges was the site itself, which was exposed to the elements and subject to frequent high winds. With pressure mounting to complete the project in time for the summer season, our team worked through a harsh winter to keep the momentum moving forwards.
