Re-establishing the essence of classic kiwi camping
From dilapidated to delightful
Re-establishing the essence of classic kiwi camping from an existing dilapidated campground into a modern state of the art facility, with stunning lake front views from multiple vantage points, was a multifaceted project on a difficult site. Our team navigated a complex lease agreement, contaminated land (asbestos), building demolition, renovation of various existing buildings and staff housing, including moving and relocating several existing dwellings.
Interweaving the old with the new whilst maintaining a sustainable focus as a fossil fuel-free site and solar energy installation was paramount for the client. The offsite prefabrication construction elements were integral to the success of the overall new site and sit within a complete new civil infrastructure.
