A vibrant core
Wigram Skies is a sustainable, master planned community created by Ngāi Tahu Property. Built on the site of the former Wigram Aerodrome on the outskirts of Christchurch, the community includes a town centre known as The Landing, which incorporates 26 different tenancies spread over five buildings.
Ensuring a speedy take-off
We have been engaged to assist with the delivery of tenant installations at The Landing. As tenancy coordinators our job is to manage the tenant fit-out process while ensuring that the objectives and rules set out by the client are met.
At the outset, we helped Ngāi Tahu Property to develop a document that clearly defined the process for each tenancy to follow. For each tenant we have managed the design approval process, assisted with consenting and reviewed the fit-out on completion. With multiple tenancies and different design teams for each tenancy, careful communication and coordination is required. Speed is also of the essence, and we have worked quickly to ensure approvals are smooth and tenants are up and running as soon as possible.
Points of interest
- The Landing services a growing community of approximately 4,000 residents and includes a supermarket, wide range of retail, food and beverage outlets as well as office spaces.
- Timeframes for tenancy fit-outs can be as short as 8 to 10 weeks from start to finish, including all stages from design through to completion of construction.
- Part of our role is to manage tenants who may have never operated previously, reassuring them around costs, explaining design implications and keeping them on the straight and narrow throughout the process.
