A contemporary private hospital, providing the best in healthcare, safety and peace of mind
An ambitious vision
Completed in two stages, Forté Health is made up of two buildings – the first containing operating theatres, day stay facilities and consultant rooms and the second made up of medical related tenants, a café and pharmacy.
We provided comprehensive project management for both building stages, working very closely with the client, for whom this was their first significant development project. Both stages of the project, which were tendered and contracted separately, were delivered on time and within budget.
Designed for resilience
Built in post-earthquake Christchurch, the client wanted to ensure that their new buildings were as safe and environmentally friendly as possible. The stage 1 building was designated as an 'Importance Level 4' building. This means it has been designed to remain operational after a 1 in 500 year earthquake.
Points of interest
- The building contains a number of environmental design features and was New Zealand’s first hospital to achieve a four green star certification.
- Built to 180% of building code it provides the highest level of strength, stability and safety for patients, clinicians, staff and visitors.
- The seismic resisting structural frames were designed as an integral part of the façade and architectural design.
