Where iconic architecture meets Queenstown's finest hospitality
From land to table
Amisfield is renowned for being entirely reflective of the dramatic landscape in which in sits – an iconic destination for wine and food lovers from around the world. We began the first phase of this project in 2003, managing the construction and fit out of the original kitchen for Amisfield Bistro. It wasn’t long before the award-winning restaurant had established itself as a go-to lunch spot for visitors and locals alike, and we back on board to oversee the expansion of the kitchen and development of the barrel cellar for functions and tastings.
An evolving story
We were initially engaged as project managers, liaising extensively with the kitchen designer and supplier to create an expressive space that was both beautiful and functional. From there, we returned in 2006 to manage the design and construction of several upgrades and extensions to the existing building. Overall, our mission was to ensure that the architectural integrity of the building was not lost but strengthened in the evolving design process.
Points of interest
- Amisfield employ world class chefs, each with their own distinctive style, flair and vision for the kitchen. This project required us to balance their needs within budget restraints.
- A core client objective was to stay true to the distinctive architecture of Amisfield, while ensuring that the space offered maximum functionality to keep up with a rising influx of visitors.
- Restaurant operations continued uninterrupted throughout the ongoing building upgrades and extensions.
