Download vCardAshton joined Rubix in 2013 and currently serves as a Director and on the National Leadership Team as National Enabling Services Lead, guiding the resources, training, support and tools that empower our people across Aotearoa to deliver exceptional project outcomes. Before stepping into this nationwide remit, he steered Rubix’s Christchurch office through 2019-24 - including the turbulence of the pandemic - building a high-performing, resilient team.
A qualified Mechanical Engineer with a PhD in Bioengineering, Ashton unpacks complex technical challenges at speed and translates them into clear, actionable language for clients and project teams. His earlier roles at Rubix spanned the University of Canterbury’s earthquake remediation programme (2013-15) and a series of major infrastructure projects at Lyttelton Port (2015-19), sharpening both his structural insight and big-project pragmatism.
Known for rapid trust-building, high EQ and meticulous attention to detail, Ashton blends deep technical knowledge with people-centric leadership. He thrives on complex, multidisciplinary projects and is passionate about enabling others to excel, ensuring every client benefits from clear guidance, cohesive teamwork and decisions made with confidence.
