Sustainability at Rubix is embedded in how we think about projects, partners, and long-term outcomes. Our focus is on restoring performance and value across the built environment, while reducing the impact of how that work is delivered.

Our certification journey

Sustainability at Rubix is embedded in how we think about projects, partners, and long-term outcomes. Our focus is on restoring performance and value across the built environment while reducing the impact of how that work is delivered.

We have been Toitū Net Carbon Zero certified since 2017 and progressed to Toitū Climate Positive certification in 2023. This reflects a deliberate shift from commitment to measured action, with carbon management now embedded across our operations and tracked through independently verified processes.

Working with Toitū has provided a credible, science-based framework to measure, manage, and reduce emissions while giving our clients confidence that sustainability is actively managed across our business.

Embedding sustainable practice

We have embedded carbon measurement and management into our day-to-day operations, transitioned away from fossil fuel vehicles, reduced air travel, and adopted lower-emissions practices across the business. Staff engagement has been central, with our team understanding the rationale behind our approach and taking ownership of delivery.

Beyond certification, Rubix supports environmental initiatives including long-term contributions to Matuku Link and WAI Wānaka. These projects focus on wetland restoration, waterway health, and biodiversity, extending our impact beyond our direct emissions footprint.

Looking ahead

Our approach continues to evolve as we work with our people, clients, and supply chain to reduce emissions and improve how projects are delivered over time.
